Sticks and stones have left me aching,
broken bones have left me sore.
You've taken everything
I've ever known away.
Will you take anything more?
Words have come to hurt,
and pain has never fled.
And there comes a time
when tears must be shed.
And we can escape
for a moment or two.
But if life flashed before me,
I might turn around.
And I'd hope to hear
the faintest of sounds
that would save me.
And keep me from breaking.
broken bones have left me sore.
You've taken everything
I've ever known away.
Will you take anything more?
Words have come to hurt,
and pain has never fled.
And there comes a time
when tears must be shed.
And we can escape
for a moment or two.
But if life flashed before me,
I might turn around.
And I'd hope to hear
the faintest of sounds
that would save me.
And keep me from breaking.

Aw man Bela, I was excited about the rhythm in the first two lines and then the rhyme scheme just kind of fell apart...
*BUT ENOUGH COMPLAINING*
I enjoyed that the image of breaking was used both at the beginning and end of this poem, and the other imagery. Your poetry is so ephemeral for the most part... would you ever consider writing something much longer? I think it is time to issue A WRITING CHALLENGE!!! *!!!GONG!!!!!*
Sorry, sorry! Thank god you told me!
Yeah, I like using those lines that can be used in logos and slogans, and sometimes nursery rhymes. Did you notice that rappers do that sometimes? They're also incredibly conceited...if you catch my drift...
Hm...longer...I could do that! Bring it on!!!
Go onto google images and search penspiral... the first result that comes up might be a good icon for you.
Of course they're conceited- "I got a reason!" to quote a rap song... yes, they do tend to use these quick little snippets and references to pop culture that make the song more fitting with the times.
This icon looks pretty darn weird, doesn't it? You can't really tell what it is that small...
Haha! I'll check that out!
Um...what is your picture anyways?
A picture of a sleeping woman using the ocean as a blanket. I dunno, I thought it was cool. :) But as you can see, I have changed it to a Pink Panther one. I less than three Peter Sellers!
And if you don't get that, try writing it out mathematically.
Hey, you are coming on Thursday, right? I'm sooo excited for the show!! *squeals inside*
Ah. Poetic...
I don't really get that math...but I'll ask my dad or something.
I'm SO excited to see the play! I think some of my friends want to come, too! Can you email me the directions and how much money to bring?
Yes.
I'll give you a hint: < means less than. :)
Okay okay...
I <3 Peter Sellers. Get it?
Erm... tix are like $8. Buy some snacks for like $0.50 each. So bring like $10 or something.
Yeah, weird profile pic, Gina. I guess I'll have to do a Google images search to figure out that one....
and btw I know MY profile pic is weird but I really don't want to change the rubber chicken!!!
Um...no, Gina. I don't get it at ALL.
Haha! The rubber chicken is FABULOUS, Maria! Why would you want to change it?
