Over My Heart

You've broken me,
and I'm still bleeding.
Hand over my heart,
just to see if it's beating.
I can't bear to look
and see what I've become.

Hold out a hand,
and take a shard.
A cracked image
of who you are.
I saw myself in you
before we disappeared.

Paint an apology
that I can frame.
Maybe then we'll know
who was to blame.
If you've found yourself,
help me to learn how.

Haha. I had hoped you were having a good time. My cousin went to that school years ago...

Really? Cool! Are you okay? There's no enthusiasm in your words!

Well, it's harder to express feelings in words when you're not supposed to be "surfing the Net" at your "work". :)

Yes, my cousin went there (she's n her mid-30s now). Maria, my mom, and I went with her dad to its auditorium once because there was a traveling group doing "A Comedy of Errors" there.

Word: cakedly (surprisingly, a word with actual meaning!)
